Due to the ongoing and ever changing dynamics of the Covid-19 Pandemic it has proven necessary to alter our Health and Safety procedures as new guidelines are released. The safety of our clients, employees and vendors remains our primary concern. Please continue to call or communicate with our office before coming into the office. FIRST McMaster Robotics Competition this weekend

Robots, Robots, Robots.

We are a sponsor of two local robotics teams.  Celt-X-5406 Bishop Ryan Robotics and Saint Jean Brebuff Odyssey Robotics  FRC7868. This Saturday and Sunday, April 7-8, 2018  they will be among 9 local teams competing with 30 other Ontario teams at the McMaster FIRST Robotics Regional Event. Both teams of High School Students have designed, built and programmed amazing robots.  This is a FREE Event and the closest for many of you to reach.  As a sponsor and now mentor of the teams I encourage you to bring out young people to check out the excitement and interact with the teams in their pits and the McMaster and Mohawk innovations and sponsor displays.  The main auditorium will be running matches of 6 robots at a time for two days straight.   This is a Major League type event with lots of excitement.  Don’t be shy come out and ask questions we love to answer them.  Look for the Crossmans in Celt-X GREEN.  The rest of this post is a message sent to us today from the very busy team!

Celt-X Robotics Season Update

The Celt-X robotics team would like to thank you our sponsors for their generous contribution towards our 2017 / 2018 season.    It’s already paying off!

We met our recruitment goals, moved to a new location (St. Mary’s Catholic Education Resource Centre at 209 MacNab St. N.), we set up a shared machine shop and installed 10 machines, built a full scale practice field and set up our team room at the new Robodrome, which has already been used by eight teams in 2018!

For this year’s game “Power Up”,  Celt-X built our most ambitious, and tallest, robot yet, “TIpsy”.    Two weeks ago Tipsy and the team competed at the FIRST Ontario Robotics Competition at Ryerson.  We came away the Winners of the tournament and received the prestigious “Entrepreneurial” Award and a runner up mentioning on our Safety program.

We couldn’t have done it without your help of our sponsors, volunteers, parents, mentors, school board and students.

FIRST McMaster Robotics Competition this weekend

On Saturday April 7th and Sunday April 8th, Celt-X will compete in our second (and last “regular season”) competition at McMaster University.    We’re inviting you to watch our team and robot in action. Please see the attached pages for details. It’s a free event, with public seating, so bring your family, co-workers and friends.   You won’t find the intensity, energy and excitement that you’ll experience this weekend anywhere else. We hope to see you there – you can’t miss us – were the team in GREEN! Come visit us in the pits and we would be pleased to give you a tour and answer any questions you may have!

Our next steps:  If we place well at McMaster, Celt-X will move on to the provincial championships next week at the Hershey Centre in Mississauga.   If we perform well there, we might earn a berth at the World Championships in Detroit.
