Apple Day is a fundraising tradition that started right here in Canada.
This is annual event provides our Scouting youth with an opportunity to show their appreciation to the general public for their support throughout the year. Our youth distribute apples as a way of saying “Thank You” to the community. Donations are accepted in exchange, but apples are not sold.
All Proceeds raised on this weekend go towards the maintenance cost of the beloved Camp Nemo Scout Camp in Burlington and the Ragged Falls Canoe Base Camp and Launch on the edge of Algonquin Provincial Park. Both of these camps give youth from the inner core of Hamilton experiences in a natural environment that would not be possible with out your support. The one response that hits home the most is when a youth is looking up into the night sky and says “Wow they have a lot more stars here!”
Rattle your change in your pockets this weekend and fill the donation cups. It goes a lot further than you know!
